A drunk young man, Kwame Addai Brobbey, has confessed to allegedly murdering his mother for insulting him.
He reportedly confessed to the murder under the influence of alcohol and further disclosed that he buried his mother alone in a garden.
According to reports, Brobbey’s confession drew the attention of the owner of the bar, Boakyewaa Hannah who asked him to repeat what he was saying.
The suspect repeated today. Even the person who gave birth to me is dead. Today is my last day on earth so if you don’t see me again, just know, I have said goodbye to you,” Brobbey said.
The owner and waitress of the drinking spot thought Brobbey was referring to his late father when he talked about death, but little did Hannah know, Brobbey had murdered his mother.
He added, ‘my mother was insulting me so I hit her. I didn’t spare her. How can you call me useless, ah, after all I have done for her, she still called me useless.’

Hannah’s husband, Agya Opoku did not take the confession lightly and reported the situation to the Ntri Boahung police at 10pm, on January 13, 2022.
The Ntri Boahung police arrested Kwame Brobbey and gave him a place to rest until the next morning when the police together with Hannah and her husband, interrogated him on his confession at the bar.
The suspect had initially lied about murdering his mother and argued that he was drunk, and was talking stupid but later confessed to the police after he was given food and water.
The body of the deceased, Evelyn Brobbey was later retrieved and taken to the mortuary as the police continue investigations into the matter.
