A group of widows whose businesses were affected by the fire that destroyed the Kantamanto market are asking for support to get their businesses back on track.
The widows whose businesses the devastating fire has displaced indicate their lost businesses were their only source of living and since the incident life has been difficult.
“We have lost everything in life and now we do not know how we will get back on our feet. We are looking forward to you coming to our aid,” they told crimecheckghana.org.
Crime Check Foundation (CCF) paid a visit to the affected individuals during which the widows made the appeal for support.
At the time of the visit, some of the traders at the market were busily erecting new sheds hoping to resume business.
According to sources close to 40,000 traders have been affected by the fire.
Some contributions have so far started to help the reconstruction of the Kantamanto market.
The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has donated Ghc 40,000 o support the reconstruction efforts by the traders with other individual donations being made.
