Crime Check Foundation, CCF has donated stationery amounting to Eight Thousand Ghana cedis to the Gomoa-Okwawu D/A Basic school in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
The items, 1,000 exercise books, 600 pieces of erasers, 240 pieces of mathematical-sets, 300 pieces of rulers, 1,450 pieces of pencils and 250 pieces of notebooks were sponsored by CCF donors. It is meant to encourage students in the village to study hard.
Students and pupils from Junior High School to Kindergarten of the only school in the village will benefit from the gesture as school resumes.
Speaking to crimecheckghana, the Chief of the area, Nana Kofi Sakyi Ababio V who together with the school authorities received the items, expressed gratitude to the Foundation and its donors for the support. He however called on the public and government to come to the aid of the school with additional support so that teachers will be motivated to accept postings to the village.
“We thank CCF and their donors for these items. This is going to enhance teaching and learning in the village because the students will be equipped for lessons. However, we need more support for a bungalow for teachers to make living here comfortable for them so that they will be discouraged from running away when they are posted here.” He appealed.
The Assistant Headmaster of the school, Daniel Arhin, assured donors that they will ensure that the beneficiaries make good use of the materials. He also thanked them on behalf of the school. “The donation of the items is timely and it will save the students, pupils and the teachers as well from the stress in taking notes and getting exercises done. We urge other NGO’s to emulate the gesture,” he said.
Some of the students and pupils were excited as they received their share of the items, and thanked CCF and the donors. “As school is about resuming, we were wondering where we will get books for our studies. God bless the donors and CCF for coming to our aid.” They said.
