Mustapha Kanya is excited as Crime Check Foundation CCF supports him again through his second term of his first year in Senior High School SHS.
Mustapha lost his father when he was an infant and his mother fell ill at the age of three. He said his mother was taken to an unknown village for treatment so he has been living with his grandmother for the past 16years.
He say, he engages in petty trading to take care of himself through school since her mother left, and have to miss school just to work so he can get his daily meals. “My grandmother is a farmer but because of her age, she is unable to engage in farming activities as she used to. Few times she gives me money, but mostly I help carry blocks at construction sites or sell coconut to get money to buy basic items I need for school and my upkeep”. He told crimecheckghana.
Mustapha after completing Junior High School was determined to further his education so he said he continued to labour, but the income was not enough to fund his SHS Education. “Sometimes, people do not give me money for the work I do for them but excuses. I become so sad knowing that my parents are not available and I am facing financial difficulties”.
To support Mustapha’s dream of furthering his education, CCF through its donors provided his school needs such as trunk, student mattress, stationery, toiletries, provisions and money for his upkeep.
A CCF donor, Eric Manu in the U.S.A has provided him with nine hundred Ghana cedis as he goes to spend his second term in school.
Mustapha expressed his heartfelt gratitude to him. “Mr. Eric Manu, God bless you for helping me to go through school. I pray you excel in all aspects of life”.
The CCF Educational Support Fund is aimed at supporting brilliant but needy students who find it difficult to pay their school fees because of financial challenges
