A UK-Based Women’s Empowerment Group, ‘Tell It Moms’ has done it again. This time, they presented an amount of Two Thousand Ghana cedis (GHc 2,000) as start-up capital to Jenifer Agyarkwa, a 29-year old lady, in response to an appeal made by Crime Check Foundation to the public to support her.
The group donated the money to enable Jenifer purchase disposable cups, food packs, plastics, tissues and other toiletries to set up her business.
Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, the Executive Director of CCF told crimecheckghana that Jenifer was bold to admit there were occasions she had to give in to men to be able to take care of herself and her child. He said some thought she was just being lazy and though that could be true, he said, “let us not lose sight of the fact that not all of us have the strength to withstand the uncertainties of life.”
He said management listened to her and accepted her as a sister and through Tell It Moms, one of the organization’s donors, “we got these items for her to sell after securing a place for her at Mallam market”.
”The euphoria in bringing joy to those in need is spectacular,” he added.
Flabbergasted Jenny couldn’t hold back her tears as she professed her unfeigned gratitude to Mr. Ibrahim Kwarteng, Tell It Moms (UK) and the entire CCF team.
Meanwhile the concerned group has assured Crime Check Foundation that they would continue to empower and support the poor, voiceless and vulnerable in many communities across Ghana.
