Eastern Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo has helped pay the fine of 68year old Charles Boamah Domfeh an inmate at the Awutu Camp Prison.
In an interview with crimecheckghana, Mr. Domfeh, a landlord, says out of generosity he gave out one of his rooms to an old woman. According to him, he came into terms with the woman for her not to pay rent but rather she should renovate the house but she never did until she passed away.
He said the Abetifi town council later served him a letter to renovate his house but since he needed money for the renovation, he had to rent out the old lady’s room to another tehttp://abetificonstituency.com/news/nant which incurred the anger of the old woman’s family. Mr. Konadu Addo after watching the interview on Crime Check TV Gh, sent one Madam Asor, a fashion designer to pay Domfeh’s fine. Presenting the donation to Crime Check Foundation, Madam Asor said she hopes the gesture will urge the public to come to the aid of other prisoners who has fines on them.
She further charged Ghanaians not to stigmatize prisoners but rather show them love and care.
An elated Domfeh had this to say: “Mr. Jeff Addo, God richly bless you for coming to my aid. You have indeed cut short my suffering in prison. Now I am free to go home, God richly bless you”.
CCF through its donors presented clothes, toothpaste, toiletries, sardines and other items to the old man and made an appeal to the public to come to the aid of Mr. Domfeh as he steps out of prison.
