Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has intervened to save a two-week-old baby from losing its life.
Stuck in an incubator, the baby was transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital from the Volta Region to undergo surgery because he suffered breathing difficulties during his birth. Bertha, mother of the baby said.
Bertha said she and her husband who is a fisherman could barely make ends meet so they were able to raise only Four Hundred Ghana cedis out of the Two Thousand Ghana cedis bill.
“I sell empty gallons but I stopped when I got pregnant. My husband is also a fisherman but he barely gets a catch so life has been difficult for us. We asked for help from family relatives who added another Four Ghana cedis to what we had,” she said.
Speaking to Bertha’s husband, he explained he had to reach out to the Foundation for help because he has been struggling to foot his child’s bill.
“At the time we realized his condition, I had exhausted all my savings because my job is not booming any longer so it has been difficult for me to pay the bills and that is why I pleaded with you to come to our aid. Earlier I had to beg my relatives to support me. We now have Eight Hundred Ghana cedis,” he said.
With funding from one of its US-based donors Vivian, CCF supported the couple with Five Hundred Ghana cedis.
The couple asked for God’s blessings for Vivian and CCF for supporting them. “May God shower his blessings on your businesses for it to prosper,” they prayed.
