Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) has supported a ‘fresh’ breast cancer patient with Ghc 1,200 to undergo further diagnosis.
38-year-old Salifu Asana was diagnosed with suspected breast cancer lumps after undergoing initial tests at the Tema General Hospital.
According to the test report, Asana’s right breast had developed cancer lumps for the past seven months.
“Ill-defined right breast mass with angular margins, parenchymal distortion, and infiltrated ipsilateral lymph nodes-features suggestive of malignant breast,” the doctor’s impression in his report read.
The young woman said she visited the hospital four months after she felt strange changes in her breast.
“I realized it in June and I went to the hospital in October. I do not have money to undergo further tests,” she told crimecheckghana.org.
Through its campaign against breast cancer, Asana heard of MBCF’s activities and made contact for support.
MBCF gave her Ghc 1,200 to enable her to undergo further medical investigations.
The support was courtesy of a US-based donor, Maa Gifty towards Meena Breast Cancer Foundation’s activities.
MBCF was established on the vision of the late Mrs. Amina Oppong Kwarteng, spouse of Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation and MBCF.
Mrs. Kwarteng died of breast cancer in 2022.
She had vowed to give her all to the fight against the deadly disease but sadly succumbed to it.
