Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has supported a 21-year-old patient Derrick Nunu to undergo medical treatment.
On its routine visit to health facilities to support patients who struggle to pay their medical bills, the CCF team led by its Executive Director, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng met Derrick in his sick bed battling for his life while his father looked on helpless.
Speaking to Crime Check TV GH, Derrick’s father said getting further medication for his son has become difficult after exhausting his savings on his previous treatment.
“My business is not doing well so I have to take a loan to be able to get him the necessary medication,” he said.
Narrating what led to Derrick’s delicate situation, his father said ‘he only started vomiting and complained of heartache. We took him to a specialist hospital and when it got worse, we brought him to the Korle-bu Teaching hospital’.
He said his son was diagnosed of a condition known as Radio-Cardinal Infection, which required that as part of the treatment he had to be put on oxygen.
Mr. Kwarteng indicated his belief in divine healing and led a prayer for Derrick to grant him strength to survive his condition.
“Money alone can not solve the problems. A word of prayer can heal him,” he said.
He gave Derrick’s father Four Hundred Ghana cedis to support his quest for medical attention for his son.
“This is Four Hundred Ghana cedis courtesy a UK based group donor, ‘Let’s Help While We Can’ to ease your difficulty in getting further care for your son.” Mr. Kwarteng said.
Though in pain Derrick managed to thank CCF and the donor for the support.
