21-year-old bus conductor, Kwame Boadu has been jailed for two years for stealing a rival’s television.
According to Boadu, his girlfriend whom he affectionately calls Efia Odo cheated on him with his victim.
He accused his victim of luring his girlfriend into another friend’s room to watch movies.
“When I confronted Afia Odo, she confirmed that she went to the room only to watch movies,” he said.
Enraged by the news that he was tipped off by friends, Boadu proceeded to the rival’s room with another friend and took away his television set in his absence.
Disappointed Boadu could not believe Efia Odo could betray him despite the cash gifts he showered on her.
“Every week I give Afia ghc 200. Sometimes ghc 300 because I loved her but she betrayed me,” he regretted.
But his revenge of taking away the TV of his rival cost him his freedom. He was arrested for the act and arraigned before court.
Boadu was handed a two-year jail term after the court found him guilty of stealing.
He is currently serving his sentence at the Awutu Camp Prison.

CCF’s crime prevention advocacy
Aside paying the fines of petty offenders and re-integrating them into society, Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has introduced programmes including the latest ‘Stay Away From Trouble’ as part of its crime prevention advocacy project.
Through these programmes CCF cautions the general public against acts that could land them in trouble in a bid to curb crime.
The Foundation screens one-on-one interviews with prison inmates bringing to bear acts that landed them in prison and the difficulties they face in custody.
