Crime Check Foundation, CCF has donated assorted items and cash, worth over Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred Ghana Cedis to residents of Gomoa Mangoase in the Central Region.
The items include boxes of unisex clothing and accessories, 36 bags of rice, 36 boxes of sugar and 36 bottles of cooking oil. The beneficiaries, mostly widows and the physically challenged, numbering hundreds, received in addition, Three Hundred Ghana Cedis each to help ease their hardship.
Presenting the items, the Executive Director of CCF, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng said it is an obligation to extend help to the needy as stipulated in the Holy books of the various faiths. He noted that, it is important to augment government’s efforts to eradicate poverty, hence the donation.
“It is heartwarming to help needy persons. Many of these individuals here are sick and going through financial difficulties so one ought to be grateful. That is why through our donors we have come to support those disadvantaged to ease their difficulties. This donation is to complement government’s effort to reach-out to the needy. We will extend this donation to surrounding communities including Swedru.” He said.
On behalf of CCF, Mr. Kwarteng who also doubles as the Ambassador Extraordinaire of Prisons appealed to the public to support the operations of the Foundation to enable it extend its services to other parts of the country.
“We will continue to appeal to you to consistently support our programs. We have an itinerary we want to follow and with your support we will be able to reach a lot of deprived persons.” He appealed.
Overwhelmed by the donation, the queen mother of the area, Ohemaa Esi Ewuramaa appealed to the Foundation to replicate the gesture in surrounding areas whose residents’ lives are marred by poverty.
“I am so pleased with this huge gesture. This is unprecedented in this town and I want to urge you to also go to the aid of the other adjoining communities. I would ask God blessings for the donors. I would appropriately invite you during our festival. Thank you very much for this donation.” She said.
CCF’s Charity Series is used to support underprivileged persons who struggle to make a living.
