Odupong Senior High School becomes the sixth second-cycle institution in the country to benefit from Meena Breast Cancer Foundation’s year-round initiative.
One tertiary institution has so far been engaged.
“We at MBCF want to fight breast cancer every day and not only in October,” MBCF’s Executive Director, Ibrahim Oppong Kwartneg said.
The decision by MBCF to target schools is to inculcate in them the habit of being conscious about their health and to also educate their parents on the knowledge acquired on breast cancer.
The Foundation usually visits communities, churches, mosques, and corporate institutions to undertake education and screening exercises.
More than ten thousand women have been engaged.
Meena Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 2022 on the vision of Amina Oppong Kwarteng, the late spouse of its Executive Director.
Mrs. Kwarteng died of breast cancer.
