21-year-old Emelia Amoako has received CCF support to go to University after struggling to further her education for two years.
Miss Amoako said she had to drop her dream of becoming a journalist in future due to financial constraints. She said after her father who was her hope got bedridden, she was hit by the realities of life during the peak of her education.
This she said made her to delay her entry to the University by two years.
“After finishing school in 2018, I couldn’t work to save some money to continue my education because I was taking care of my sick father. Most of my colleagues have gone to the University and I am still home,” she told crimecheckghana.
The Ekumfi T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School graduate said though her journalism dream had been dashed, her longing for the French language led her to apply to study for a Bachelor of Arts in French Education at the University of Education, Winneba.
“I speak little of the French language and I love it. I have gained admission to the University of Education but raising the admission fee,” she said.
CCF’s support
After her failed attempts to get support, she ran to Crime Check Foundation, CCF.
CCF through one of its Spain based group donors, Ga Adangbe Association paid Emelia’s admission fee of Two Thousand Ghana cedis to enable her enter the University.
Appreciation
Miss Amoako couldn’t hide her tears as she thanked CCF and the donors for supporting her. “God bless you for supporting me. I did not have hope that I will go to the University now. May your businesses progress,” she prayed.
Appeal
The Foundation is appealing to the public to support its Educational Support Fund to enable it support more brilliant but needy students to further their education.
