75-year-old Opanin Moro has to be a public toilet attendant to be able to feed himself. His son who lives in the city has abandoned him after his leg started to rot. Crime Check Foundation went to his aid through its Village Charity supported by one of its UK donors, popularly known as Zoro King.
Opanin Moro said his leg started to rot after a broken bottle pierced his leg. He said doctors discharged him from the hospital after they couldn’t treat him.
“I was admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital for some time and they discharged me. I told the doctors if they discharge me I wouldn’t be able to walk so they asked me to stay around.” He told crimecheckghana.
“I lost my wife two years ago. My daughter is at Gyenegyene. My son also lives in Kumasi but he does not care about me.” He said.
Papa Moro wept as he received Two Hundred Ghana Cedis support from Crime Check Foundation, CCF through one of its UK based donors, Zoro King.
“I am sad. There is a boy who has been speaking with my son. I have been asking if he wouldn’t come to see me. At least he can visit me on Sundays but he does not. With my walking stick I manage to sweep here.” He cried.
CCF is appealing to the public to come to the aid of Opanin Moro for him to get proper medical attention.
The Foundation’s Village Charity Series is used to seek support for struggling village dwellers.
