26year old Mary Edumadze who lives at Akwele in the Central Region of Ghana gets further support from Crime Check Foundation.
Mary is currently receiving treatment after parts of her face and body were disfigured by an anonymous person who poured an acidic substance on her face.
Mary said the unfortunate incident happened few metres from her house when she was returning home from a watch night service on the 31st December, 2019. The incident, she said, affected her eyes so she could not identify the culprit.
According to her, she was rushed to St. Johns clinic in Kasoa and later referred to the Korle- Bu teaching Hospital where she is currently undergoing series of treatment. The situation, she said, has made her go through difficulties especially in her finances because she cannot work to cater for her medical bills. “I used to sell indomie to cater for myself and my child but I now have to depend on the petty money my mother gives because of my situation”.
After hearing her story, Ghana and Newcastle United winger, Christian Atsu through Crime Check Foundation, CCF has given five hundred Ghana cedis to the deformed lady.
Mary has also received a separate amount of one thousand Ghana cedis through CCF from a lady referred to as Mama Gee.
Additionally, a CCF donor in the U.S, Mama Esther in Germany has given an amount of two hundred and eighty Ghana cedis to her.
A teary Mary could not hide her joy as she thanked the donors for coming to her aid.
