A law student at the University of Cape Coast has said that the law does not recognize a woman having to rape a man.
Ismail Oppong Kwarteng said the law does not back a man who claims to have been raped by a woman.
He made the controversial statement during a discussion on consent to have sex particularly.
According to him, a lady who has initially agreed to have sexual intercourse may revoke the consent while the act is ongoing.
That he said means that if the man ignores the revocation of consent and continues with the sex, he could be held liable by the law for rape if the woman makes a case against him.
“Consent to have sex can be revoked and if the man refuses to adhere to the demands of the lady, he can be charged with rape,” Ismail said.
In the same vein, he indicated, a married man can fall guilty of raping his wife if the woman is forced to bow to the sexual demands of the husband.
Given these provisions, it is therefore difficult for a man to prove innocence if a man is charged with rape, Mr. Kwarteng stated.
The young law student has stated earlier that wearing a fake military uniform is not illegal.
