Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) has saved five residents of Mpohor in the Western Region after they were screened for breast cancer.
A total of 307 residents including students were screened for the disease, of which 5 suspected cases were recorded.
The exercise spearheaded by MBCF was in collaboration with the traditional leaders of Mpohor led by the Queenmother of Wassa Mpohor northwest of Sekondi-Takoradi, Nana Hemaa Ebaah Krah II.
The programme got the support of the Omanhene of the area, Osaabarima Kwaw Entsie II.
It is the second time the Foundation has visited the region as part of efforts to fight the disease.
In its intense fight against the dreaded disease, Mpohor adds to more than ten communities Meena Breast Cancer Foundation has implemented its sensitization and screening initiatives.
MBCF provides counseling and support for patients who are receiving treatment.
The Foundation goes to festivals and other events to offer breast screening opportunities for celebrants.
