Tell It Moms (TIM), a women’s empowerment group based in the UK, of about ninety members, has donated an amount of ten thousand Ghana Cedis to a poor widow with five children. The poor widow and her five children have no accommodation and sleeps on the floor in an open market at Kasoa in the central region of Ghana. The donation is in response to an appeal by Crime Check Foundation, CCF, the public to support the poor widow and her five children who have no accommodation, no food to eat and has never been to school. The plight of this widow and her children moved these women to tears after crimecheckghana shared their story.
The group told crimecheckghana that this amount of money should be used as a startup business capital for madam Christy, the poor widow.
Meanwhile, following the story of 29 year old Jennifer Agyarkwa by Crime Check Foundation, the group has also donated an amount of two thousand Ghana Cedis, for the purchase of disposable cups, packs, plastics and tissues to set up a business for Jennifer. “Most women have sworn not to come out for fear of stigmatization but for Jenny to come out boldly to narrate her ordeal of having to sleep with men before getting food to eat, we will help her start up a business”. The group said.
The women’s empowerment group continues to support the poor, voiceless and the vulnerable in many communities across Ghana.
