Four- year old Kobby’s pursuit for medical treatment for a strange disease which has caused his head to swell has been unsuccessful. The little boy has been in anguish since his childbirth because of the swollen head disease.
The sought for treatment for Kobby’s ailment started when his grandmother took him to a prayer center at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana where the priest suggested that they kill him because there is no cure to his sickness. Luckily, his father, Desmond’s intervention saved him.
Desperately Desmond subsequently run to Crime Check Foundation, CCF to seek funding for Kobby’s surgery after his efforts to pay Two Thousand Ghana Cedis to facilitate MRI scan to save his son failed.
CCF through its sympathetic donors assisted Desmond with the said amount to facilitate Kobby’s surgery.
CCF’s involvement gave Desmond an assurance that, his next visit to the hospital will be the joy of seeing his son healthier. Unfortunately his optimism was dashed after doctors had called him for a meeting. He said when he and his mother got to the hospital, he could not help himself when doctors broke the sad news that his son’s surgery will be unsuccessful, should they go ahead with it.
“I did not take it easy at all. I did not know what to do because I thought I was going to see my son healthy. All hope was lost after doctors broke the news to us. Now I am taking him home I don’t know how I am going to cope with his condition but I am hopeful that God will give me solace”. He told crimecheckghana.
Desmond’s mother who has been in sobs was disappointed that doctors could not save her grandson. “When we brought Kobby to Korle-Bu I was hopeful that he will get well because I know that Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital is the last and best resort. I nearly fell unconscious when I heard the news.” She said.
After accompanying Desmond to take Kobby from the hospital, CCF gave them an undisclosed amount of money for his upkeep and medications which doctors had prescribed to mitigate his pains till he passes on.
Desmond’s mother was most grateful to CCF and its donors for their unfettered kindness. “I want to use this opportunity to ask for God blessings to the Executive Director of CCF and all donors who have showed compassion for Kobby through their generous contributions. May you never lack in life so that you continue to help others who are in need.” She prayed.
However, CCF seeks the faithful prayers of believers for little Kobby as it believes in divine healing from the Almighty God.
