Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) is embarking on a media tour with its breast cancer education.
The Foundation’s Communications and Advocacy and Project officers, Nina Ahema Duodu and Ebenezer Erskine are visiting radio and TV stations to educate the public and bring to the attention of authorities the real picture of the prevalence of the disease on the ground.
They have so far visited the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s Radio Ghana on different programmes.
MBCF has for the past two years since its establishment visited schools at the various levels of the educational ladder, communities, and corporate institutions to sensitize students, staff, and community members.
The findings, which show scary statistics are a concern for the nation to intensify the fight against breast cancer, according to the team.
The findings call for urgent action from stakeholders to save the overwhelming number of young women who are contracting the disease and the many who are losing their lives daily.
The media tour is part of the Foundation’s daily fight against the disease in converse to the October focus.
While sharing their thoughts, some listeners of Radio Ghana lauded MBCF and encouraged them to spread their projects to other parts of the country in the North.
According to Madam Duodu though there are plans to visit the Northern part of the country, the Foundation is hindered by inadequate funds to extend its tentacles.
