A UK based philanthropist, Madam Mina Okyere has presented items to inmates at the Nsawam female prison through Crime Check Foundation (CCF).
The items include over 50 sanitary pads of different sizes and new cotton towels.
Madam Mina told crimecheckghana that she is much concerned about the personal hygiene of incarcerated women hence the donation. “I know they may need some sanitary items as women and so I thought it prudent to lend a helping hand”.
Receiving the items, the Officer in Charge of the facility, DDP Joana Fofo Tackie-Otoo expressed profound appreciation to CCF and Madam Mina Okyere for the gesture. “On behalf of the inmates, I will like to say a very big thank you to Madam Mina Okyere, for giving us these beautiful things and we appreciate them so much. God richly bless you and God richly bless Crime Check Foundation for the good work you are doing”.
The decision by Crime Check Foundation to champion efforts at the reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners has become necessary because of the deplorable conditions in Ghana’s forty four prisons.
