75-year-old Martin Fuachie is grappling with life after he was sacked from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
For twenty-three years, the former storekeeper at GIMPA has not had any meaningful life.
The institution has since his dismissal not paid Mr. Fuachie’s accrued benefits.
He tells crimecheckghana.org he has been living on the benevolence of people.
“Many of my colleagues who were also sacked have died because of hardship,” he said.
Unfortunately for him, his daughter fell ill and got bedridden along the line. His hopes were crushed.
Despite his penniless life, he has to support his daughter to get medical attention.
How would he raise money to help her daughter who had been sick for twelve years?
It seems death crossed his mind as he narrated his story to Crime Check Foundation (CCF) to seek support.
Tears flooded the eyes of Mr. Fuachie and his daughter while they pleaded with government to settle the man’s benefits.
“We have fought the case in court since we were sacked. Our lawyer has even given up on the case,” Mr. Fauchie said.
CCF gave the father and daughter One Thousand Ghana cedis to ease their sufferings under the Foundation’s Health Check Series.
The Foundation has further taken it upon itself to fund the therapeutic treatment of Miss Alberta Fuachie.
