The joy of deprived persons in the Okaikwei Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region have been restored as Crime Check Foundation; CCF fills a huge gap in their depressing economic condition with a donation of food items and cash.
The items include Fifty (50) bags of rice, twenty cartons (20) of cooking oil and over Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis to more than 200 deprived persons including the physically challenged, widows, and orphans in the Constituency.
Each of these persons received a bag of rice and a bottle of cooking oil in addition to an undisclosed amount of money.
The gesture was made under the auspices of the Executive Director of CCF Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng with the Member of Parliament and the Constituency Chairman of the Association of Persons Living with Disabilities throwing their weight behind him to do the distribution.
Mr. Kwarteng who also doubles as the Ambassador Extraordinaire of Ghana’s Prisons noted that the donation is to complement the efforts of government in supporting the underprivileged in society. “There are lots of people who are struggling in life. No government can completely eradicate poverty, that is why with the support of our donors, we have come here to donate to you. He told crimecheckghana.
The donation forms part of the Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Project to support underprivileged individuals who are starving because of restrictions in movement.
The Chairman of the Association of Persons with Disability in the Okaikwei Constituency, Gilbert Osarfo, praised CCF for the immeasurable donation and called on other organizations to follow suit. “We thank Crime Check Foundation for the gesture. However, there are a lot of the persons living with disability in this Constituency who are starving. I have to sometimes help them from my own. We plead with other organizations especially those operating within the Constituency to emulate what CCF has done so that deprived persons and the physicailly challenged will also get some relief.” He said.
The Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Patrick Boamah, thanked CCF for taking into consideration the welfare of his constituents. “We thank CCF and its donors that in the course of their donation they have not left out Okaikwei Central Constituency. On behalf of the leaders of the Constituency and all gathered here I say God bless CCF and the Executive Director, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng.” He said.
CCF executed the gesture successfully through the immense contribution of its compassionate donors.
Gleefully, the beneficiaries of the donation rained blessings on the donors. “God bless you.” They sang in harmony.
