Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has donated assorted edible items to Muslim inmates at the James Camp prison in the Central Region.
The items, which run into thousands of Ghana cedis, included a bag of rice, boxes of cooking oil, and packs of fizzy drinks.
This is to enable the inmates to observe Ramadan without difficulty.
The Executive Director of CCF, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng presented the items to the Officer-In-Charge at the James Camp Prison, DDP, William Anaman.
Mr. Kwarteng who is also the Ambassador Extraordinaire of Ghana Prisons urged the public to support Muslim inmates during this difficult period of fasting and prayers.
“This is a month of blessing as Ramadan is being observed. The inmates struggle to have a smooth fasting because of the difficulty to get food. We want to urge you to donate to them to encourage them to end the period successfully,” he pleaded.
Mr. Anaman on behalf of the Prisons service thanked the organization for the show of love and pledged to offer the necessary support to Muslim inmates.
“God bless you for your thoughtfulness to come to the aid of the inmates. This period is crucial for the Muslim inmates and I promise the support of my outfit to them to see them through seamless fasting,” he pledged.
CCF plans to fete the inmates after a successful Ramadan and is asking the general public to support the idea.
