Two young individuals have been burnt to death in a horrific incident at Kasoa Adom Estate in the Awutu Senya East Municipality, Central Region.
CCTV footage from a nearby container shop captured three young men who set the two victims ablaze, but no arrests have been made.
The victims, 22-year-old Kwabena Osei and 19-year-old Princess Anarley Ahiatey, were locked in a room that was torched around 2 am on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Preliminary investigations suggest Kwabena was involved in scamming and used Princess as an imposter to communicate with clients at night.
On Wednesday, Kwabena invited Princess to his house for their usual operation.
Princess’ mother, Mama Felicia, explained that her daughter informed her about Kwabena’s invitation but advised her not to go.
She is therefore surprised about the development that has resulted in her daughter’s death.
“I tried to stop my daughter from going to see Kwabena Osei, but she never listened to her,” the heartbroken mother wept.
Meanwhile, Kwabena’s mother, Sister Esi, said she never knew her son was involved in fraud.
The Awutu Senya East Municipal National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Director, Kwame Amoah, has urged the Ghana Police Service to work diligently to apprehend the suspects captured on CCTV.
