Inmates at James Camp Prison in Accra are to benefit from a training programme in Batik Tye and Dye and offer livelihood support modules as part of the CCF Ex-convict Reintegration Programme.
The programme which is being funded by Black Stars and Newcastle Midfielder, Christian Atsu and CCF seeks to support efforts by the Ghana Prisons Service to provide livelihood support for inmates to enable them reintegrate successfully into society.
The Ambassador Extraordinare of Prisons and Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation, Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng who has been championing improvement in prisons conditions, says his organisation responded to calls by James Camp Prison to support in its reintegration programme. “I have been amazed at the volume of development at James Camp Prison and the efforts by its Officer-In-Charge DDP Mrs. Patience Baffoe Bonnie, hence, CCF’s decision to extend its ex-convict reintegration funding module to the prison”, he told crimecheckghana.
