Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has urged the Ghana Police Service to expedite actions to bring to book a CID officer. Clement Suputour who mutilated a suspect’s ear with a plier during interrogation.
Appalled by the act of the police officer, CCF condemned the act and its intervention ignited reactions from the general public who called for justice for the victim, 20-year-old Judith Yaakuma.
The issue caught the attention of the Police administration to investigate Mr. Suputour’s actions.
In its quest to see justice served swiftly, the crime prevention advocacy organization wants the Police administration to quicken up its pace with its investigation got justice and adequate support.
Part of a statement signed by the Executive Director of CCF on its call, read, “CCF is appalled and horrified by recent reports of a police officer, Clement Suputour of the Tema Community 8 Police Station Criminal Investigation Department (CID), who allegedly used excessive force and brutality by chopping off the ear of 20-year-old Judith Yaakuma with a pair of pliers,” it said.
Reactions from the general public indicate the need for reforms at police stations.
Judith Yaakuma is currently battling trauma.
