Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has supported an 18-year-old lady and her boyfriend after having their baby stolen at a Prayer Camp at Senya in the Central Region.
Rebecca Nyarko gave birth at the yet-to-be-identified Prayer Camp because her boyfriend could not afford a caesarian session recommended by doctors.
According to Nyarko, she was sleeping in the same room at the camp with her newborn baby and her first child.
In that same room was an usher in the church who usually is responsible for locking up the door when they go to sleep at night.
“On that fateful day, the usher slept without closing the door,” she recounted.
Rebecca said she tried to wake the usher up to lock the door because she did not know how to do it. The usher ignored her claiming he was ill.
She also went to bed and then the thief came at night and stole the baby.
“I woke up around 11 pm to check up on my baby and I found only my elderly daughter. My three-day-old baby was gone,” she cried.
The ‘couple’ has had sleepless nights since the incident as they call on authorities to help them find the child.
In the meantime, Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has supported them with One Thousand Ghana cedis to help them solve some pertinent issues they face.
This was after they asked CCF for assistance with their upkeep.
The gesture was made through the contribution of a US-based donor, Nana Danso.
