Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has donated used clothing and footwear to residents of Aboansa and Osumbo, two rural settlements in the Central Region.
The gesture was made possible with assistance from the Foundation’s donors home and abroad.
The donors included Juliana Afrakoma and family, France-based Sister Akos, Maa Serwaa, based in Austria, Robert Graham and wife in Holland, and two anonymous donors.
The others are UK-based Michael Oteng, Christiana Oppong in the US, Ghana-based Veronica Boateng, Aurora Albury also in Ghana, US-based Richardson Denkyi, and Germany-based Lydia Fassbender.
Apart from Madam Afrakoma and her family who made a cash donation, the rest contributed clothing and footwear for men and women.
Residents of the two farming communities exploded with joy as children, women, and men jostled for their share of the items.
They thanked the Foundation and the donors for going to their aid. “God bless you for your support. We will now have plenty of clothes to wear,” they said.
The Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng said the Foundation is committed to easing the difficulties of people living in villages.
“Living in the village is difficult and many of these village dwellers struggle to clothe themselves. This is why we are going to their aid to support them,” he said.
Crime Check Foundation has visited villages in the Northern, Ashanti, Central, and Volta regions to support residents to help improve their livelihood.
It does not only support people with cash gifts but also provides social amenities for some communities.
CCF seeks to extend the support to other regions but relies on donor support.
