The residents of Kwahu Nsabaa in the Kwahu West Municipality in the Western Region were thrown into a state of disbelief when news went rife that a 35-year-old man known as Issaka has allegedly impregnated his 17-year-old step-daughter and has been sleeping with his two biological daughters.
Narrating her ordeal, the 30-year-old wife of Issaka, Abena Joyce said her husband usually takes advantage of the children in her absence.
The Chief of the area, Nana Osei Twum Barimah who expressed shock over the issue indicated that it is the first kind of incestuous act since he became a chief in the area.
Nana Twum Barimah called for the prosecution of the suspect to serve as a deterrent to others after Chiefs in the area poured libation to cleanse the community on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
“This is unbelievable, Nananom has poured libation to cleanse the land, it is up to the family to report the matter to the police for the necessary action to be taken. The libation was done after the children confirmed to us that their father has been engaging in sexual intercourse with them. The stepdaughter also confirmed the man is responsible for the pregnancy and he also admits something of the sort happened”, he said.
CCF’s crime prevention advocacy
Crime Check Foundation (CCF) has introduced programmes including the latest ‘Stay Away From Trouble’ as part of its crime prevention advocacy project.
Through these programmes it has been cautioning the general public against acts that could land them in trouble in a bid to curb crime.
The Foundation screens one-on-one interviews with prison inmates bringing to bear acts that landed them into prison and the difficulties they face in custody.
It has also paid the fines of many petty offenders for their release.
