35 year old widow Lardy Serbe is struggling to cater for her six children after her in-laws seized the property of her late husband.
Serbe said in spite of her love for her husband’s family, they disregarded her and went on to snatch the property she and her deceased husband labored to acquire. She said she engaged them in series of litigation to reclaim the property but was unsuccessful.
“I had a dispute with my in-laws regarding the property but the Judge asked us to settle the case out of court. Since the past four years we have not been able to resolve the issues. I have my name on all the property in Accra, his document at his workplace at VRA and our house but they still disagreed. That instigated the row.” She told crimecheckghana.
The poor widow said life has been tough for her because she had to take up head pottering and toil to be able to fend for her children with the meager income she makes from the business. She said because of financial difficulties she has to rely on the benevolence of neighbors to be able to feed her children if not they would starve.
“Due to the COVID-19 lockdown I don’t get job offers so I have to rely on the benevolence of neighbors to be able to feed my children. My children are not working so I am overburdened by their responsibilities. My husband’s demise has ruined my life because I wouldn’t have been struggling to cater for the children as I am doing now.” She said.
Crime Check Foundation, CCF supported the upkeep of Lardi with an amount of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis to ease her financial burden through one of the Foundation’s UK based donors popularly known as Zoro King.
Miss Serbe showed her indebtedness for the support. “God bless you and grant your heart desires so that you will continue to help others. God bless the Executive Director of CCF, Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng. May He grant him long life.” She prayed.
CCF’s Charity Series is used to get support for individuals and families who struggle to make a living.
