Crime Check Foundation CCF has surprised pregnant commercial sex worker, Gifty Nketia as all hopes of keeping her unborn child was lost. The sex worker has received support.
When crimecheckghana spoke to Gifty who hails from Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, she said she has been working as a prostitute to take care of her four children after the demise of her husband. “My husband was a galamseyer at Nkawkaw where we were living with our children but my husband died in the course of his work, leaving me with the four children. So I came to Accra to work as a prostitute in order to use the money I get from it to cater for my children.”
The young woman said after engaging in prostitution for a year, she unfortunately got pregnant. She says she wants to sell the child since she doesn’t know its father, and is also facing financial difficulties. “I really suffer in taking care of the needs of my children and I do not want to add up. I cannot even tell the child who the father is so I just want to sell the child and have my freedom. She told crimecheckghana.
Touched by the story of Gifty, a CCF donor in the U.K, Esther Kusi has donated an amount of One Thousand Pounds to serve as Startup capital to enable her engage in a lawful venture.
Another CCF donor, Mr. Kwarteng who lives in the U.S donated an amount of Four Hundred U.S Dollars to support Gifty in buying the necessary items she will need to welcome her new baby.
It was a moment of joy for Gifty Nketia as she sang songs of praise to God. “I thank God for all she has done for me. I pray God blesses these donors for what they have done for me and may he replenish all that they have lost because of me”. She said.
