A suspected armed robber has been butchered to death after he was caught raping his victim’s wife during a robbery incident at Asuoabena near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
The deceased who’s said to be in his late 20s was part of a gang of six armed robbers who attacked a cattle ranch at Asuoabena, stole three cows, and returned to rape the wife of the ranch owner.
According to the Assembly Member for the Area, Micheal Adofoasa the gang had tied up their victims with rope, but one managed to free himself and caught the deceased in the act.
Enraged, the ranch manager grabbed a cutlass and killed the suspect.
Police have invited the victims to assist in investigations.
He noted that the incident had left one dead, one injured, and four suspects on the run.
This incident comes after a 37-year-old commercial driver identified as Amos Adusei, popularly known as Star Boy, was shot to death by suspected armed robbers on the Ahenkro-Kwaman highway in the Ashanti Region.
The incident happened on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
According to Mr Pedmore Agyei Donkor, the brother of the deceased, Amos had been transporting passengers from Ahenkro to Kwaman when he was ambushed by the attackers on his return journey.
Residents who arrived at the scene reported hearing multiple gunshots and discovered Amos critically injured.
He was rushed to Offinso Saint Patrick Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The police have since begun an investigation into the incident to apprehend those responsible for the fatal attack.
