46year old mother of five, Juliana Korley received the shock of her life when she woke up one morning to the horrible death of her husband Mr. James Angmorteh Mensah at Pankrono Estate in Kumasi. She tells crimecheckghana amid tears, “I was asleep with my children when my husband came in from work. He decided to go into the outside corridor to warm his food. Coincidentally, some robbers were engaged in a robbery spree in our area. When they saw my husband, they thought he had seen them robbing others. One of them suddenly came with a machete to stab my husband to death”.
The mother of five who had to be comforted throughout her narration said, after the dastardly act, the armed robbers who have since been apprehended, returned a few days later to set her husband’s house ablaze. “I picked nothing after they set our house ablaze”. The development, according to Madam Korley has put her and her children in a very difficult situation. “We currently live on the generosity of others. All my children have dropped out of school”. She tells crimecheckghana.
After hearing of her ordeal, Crime Check Foundation sought the assistance of the public and got support to rent a room for the widow. The Foundation additionally got a philanthropist to donate a deep-freezer to her. “I am so grateful to Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng of Crime Check Foundation. May God bless him to carry on with the good work he is doing for mother Ghana.
