Residents and students in Breman-Brakwa, a farming community in the Central Region have been screened for breast cancer.
This followed calls from the community for attention to the breast health of residents for fears of contracting the disease.
Breast cancer, the second deadliest cancerous disease continues to wreak havoc despite efforts to find an elixir to it.
While there is no solution to it yet, early detection is the only way to save lives, as the growth of the cancer will be able to be stunted.
Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) responded to the call of the residents of the community and moved to Breman-Brakwa to carry out a sensitization and breast screening exercise.
Students also had the opportunity to benefit from the exercises after spending two days in the community.
Beneficiary schools are Brakwa Methodist, Brakwa Catholic, and the Brakwa Presbyterian School.
Out of the two hundred and eighty-three (283) people screened, 7 suspected cases were recorded.
