55 year old second-hand footwear dealer, who lives in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Frank Osei Assibey is seeking support to undergo surgery after his daughter, Charity’s efforts to raise Six Thousand Ghana Cedis to get medical treatment for him proved futile.
According to Charity, his father had an accident which left his leg broken whiles he was on his way from his usual treks to nearby villages to sell foot wears.
Narrating her ordeal to crimecheckghana, a distressed Charity said a benevolent individual took her father from the accident scene to the hospital. She said a kind doctor at the hospital fixed a replica metallic bone support to replace his father’s broken bone without charge because they were unable to afford the cost.
She said in the course of her father’s monthly review, doctors demanded Six Thousand Ghana Cedis for him to undergo surgery because the initial treatment went bad.
“I have been trying to raise the money to enable my father to undergo the surgery but all my efforts have been in vain. The doctors said they will not attend to him unless the money is paid but there is no support anywhere.” She said.
She said since her father’s predicament, they have been starving as family members have been unconcerned about her dad’s ailment. The depressed young lady said they came to live in an uncompleted building through a benevolent individual who offered it to them after their landlord ejected them from their rented room because they could not renew their rent. “If not for a kind neighbor we would have been starving because anytime we are hungry I call him and then he sends us money to buy food. My father’s friend who lives in Accra offered this building to us to have shelter when we became homeless.” She said.
CCF gave Frank Assibey Five Hundred Ghana Cedis for his upkeep. He thanked CCF for the support. “God bless you and grant you long life for the support.”
The Foundation is appealing to benevolent individuals to come to the aid of Frank to enable him get medical attention to prevent his leg from getting rotten.
The gesture is part of CCF’s Health Check Series which is used to seek support for poor individuals who need medical attention but do not have the wherewithal to access it.
